Location: Secusafe Melbourne branch located at Clayton South.
 
About the role
As a Warehouse Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth flow of goods in and out of the warehouse. Your responsibilities will include receiving, storing, organising, and distributing products while adhering to safety guidelines and maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to contribute to the overall success of the warehouse team.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipping according to specified procedures and customer requirements.
  • Receive incoming shipments, inspect them for damages, and verify their accuracy with purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Unload, sort, and place products in designated storage areas, ensuring proper organisation and efficient use of space.
  • Perform regular inventory counts and update inventory records using computerised systems or manual logs.
  • Monitor and report inventory levels, anticipating potential shortages or overstock situations.
  • Operate pallet jacks, walkie-stackers and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring that safety regulations and guidelines are followed at all times.
  • Assist with order processing, label printing, and other administrative tasks related to warehouse operations.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment and address any discrepancies or issues that arise.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency and productivity.
 
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in warehouse operations or logistics is a plus.
  • Full-time working rights in Australia
  • Advantage to have forklift licence but not necessary
  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Assistant or in a similar role is preferred, but entry-level candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn will be considered.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software or warehouse management systems are advantageous.
  • Ability to operate and manoeuvre material handling equipment, such as walkie-stackers and pallet jacks
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order processing, inventory counts, and record-keeping.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, and withstand prolonged periods of standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and supervisors effectively.
